The Opportunity:

Red River College is seeking a Development Officer to play an essential role in the college’s current capital campaign and be a key member of the College Relations team. Reporting to the Development Manager, the incumbent will develop, plan and execute a comprehensive fundraising program and donor relation strategies, which will reflect the College’s strategic goals, academic priorities and values.

Responsibilities include: 

·         Working closely with the RRC Deans and Chairs to foster an environment that will encourage fund development activities;

·         Conducting market analysis, developing research leads and soliciting gifts/partnerships on behalf of RRC;

·         Directly identify, qualify, engage and cultivate prospective donors;

·         Identifying opportunities to create capital/equipment endowments within the academic departments and to present the opportunities to potential donors;

·         Working with the capital campaign team to cultivate, solicit and steward potential donors;

·         On-going management of an effective and comprehensive stewardship program for RRC’s current donors, which includes the College’s scholarships and bursaries programs;

·         Working with the Development team to identify, research, develop and implement appropriate recognition vehicles which correspond to the gift level; and

·         Developing with the College Relations Director and Development team, a dynamic strategic plan for the Department and design policies and procedures to support the plan.

 

Selection Criteria:

·         A diploma or degree in a relevant field as well as significant experience in a fundraising role;

·         Excellent interpersonal and verbal written communication skills;

·         Demonstrated track record of closing significant sales (gifts);

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality;

·         Ability to lead and delegate;

·         Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders;

·         Ability to interpret policy as it pertains to corporate and foundation giving; and

·         Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite & database management.

·         Experience with Raiser's Edge would be an asset.

·         CFRE designation would be an asset.
