With a new Leadership team, all of whom have a strong record of success, MBCI Canada, is working towards building an empowering team environment that engages staff in a Lean environment.   We are looking for strong leaders with highly effective people management skills and supervisory experience in a line environment.  While direct related experience is an asset, it is not a requirement and MBCI Canada is willing to train high potential individuals who meet the criteria.

 

The Opportunity

 

Reporting to production management, the Production Supervisor provides effective supervision and leadership to hourly associates or others as assigned.  The supervisor will ensure effectiveness and efficiency of all aspects of performance to achieve the short and long term goals of the department including safety, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.  MBCI offers very good advancement opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsibility to ensure and promote the health, safety & well being of associates
  • Responsible to ensure that the quality of departmental outputs and processes meet company requirements
  • Monitor, control and adjust labours systems and procedures to increase labour and material efficiency
  • Provide direct supervision to Lead Hands, hourly Associates and others as assigned
  • Develop and maintain Associate relations
  • Ensure accurate and timely reports and keep required documentation up to date
  • Maintain and apply effective use of Performance Review Process

 

Selection Criteria:                                   

  • High School diploma required
  • Post Secondary and/or CIM highly desirable
  • Minimum 2-3 years in a leadership role (Lead hand or higher) in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S an asset
  •  Demonstrated ability to lead people and improve processes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Action oriented, organized, enthusiastic
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
